The calculator below can be used to calculate the inductance for up to six inductors in either series or parallel configuration. Enter the inductance values starting at "Inductor #1", and leave a zero "0" in each of the inductor controls not required.

Note! The calculator starts at the top control and works down the list until a zero value is encountered, then performs the calculation. If you enter values in the first, second, and fourth controls, (skipping the third control), the value in the fourth control will not be included in the calculation.

Inductors in Parallel
The total inductance is equal to the sum of all of the inductors.
LTotal = L1 + L2 + L3 + Ln...

Inductors in Series:
The total inductance is equal to the reciprocal of the sums of the reciprocals of all of the inductors.
LTotal = 1 / (1 / L1 + 1 / L2 + 1 / L3 + 1 / Ln...)
